How to attend Music Bank: As of October 2026, fans attend Music Bank through the performing artist's fan club: a Weverse notice opens a 10-30 minute application one or two days before, usually for paid members aged 15+, and foreigners must bring a physical passport or alien registration card matching the name they entered.
KBS2 Music Bank, SBS Inkigayo, Mnet M Countdown and MBC M Show Champion seat part of their studio audience as "fan club seats" for that week's performers, a system Korean fans call 공방 (short for 공개방송, open broadcast). Each agency posts a one-off Weverse notice, runs a short form and checks every winner's ID at the door.
How to attend Music Bank: what do the official notices say?
Five official Weverse notices from 2025 and 2026 all follow the same pattern: an application window of 10 to 30 minutes, opened one or two days before the broadcast, for 5 to 300 people per session. The table compares those five notices side by side, covering two Music Bank sessions and one session each of Inkigayo, M Countdown and Show Champion. All times are Korea Standard Time (KST).
| Show and date | Artist (agency) | Application window | Who could apply | Places | Roll call |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| KBS2 Music Bank Fri, July 17, 2026 | YEONJUN of TXT (BIGHIT MUSIC) | Thu, July 16, 13:30–14:00 (day before) | MOA Membership holders | 5 + 3 waitlist | 15:50, KBS IBC Building TV Hall, Yeouido |
| KBS2 Music Bank pre-recording Fri, March 14, 2025 | SEVENTEEN Hoshi X Woozi (PLEDIS) | Thu, March 13, 17:30–17:40 (day before) | CARAT Membership + 2 Weverse Shop albums + official lightstick | 300 (part 1), 150 (part 2) | From 04:00, KBS New Building public hall lobby |
| SBS Inkigayo (live) Sun, July 26, 2026 | SUNMI (Abyss Company) | Fri, July 24, 22:00–22:30 (two days before) | Membership card + lightstick + purchase receipt + 2 of 3 extra conditions | 10 + 3 reserves | 13:20, SBS Deungchon-dong public hall |
| Mnet M Countdown Thu, April 30, 2026 | CORTIS (BIGHIT MUSIC) | Wed, April 29, 13:00–13:30 (day before) | COER Membership + 3 album versions + Melon download printout | 10 | 16:40, CJ ENM Center, Sangam-dong |
| MBC M Show Champion Wed, October 7, 2026 | TIOT (Red Start ENM) | Mon, October 5, 18:00–18:10 (two days before) | Weverse community member + photobooks and album + Melon record + fromm 100 days | 10 + 5 reserves | 15:30, MBC Dream Center, Ilsan |
As of October 24, 2026. Sources: the official Weverse notices of TXT, SEVENTEEN, SUNMI, CORTIS and TIOT (linked under Sources). Each notice applies to that one broadcast only.
None of the five notices mentions an entry fee. The costs they do name are the fan club membership, album versions and music downloads that each agency sets as proof of support, so the real cost of a fan club seat depends on the artist and album.

How do you apply to attend Music Bank?
You apply to attend Music Bank through a form linked in the performing artist's Weverse notice, during a window that lasted 30 minutes for YEONJUN's July 17, 2026 episode and 10 minutes for SEVENTEEN's March 14, 2025 pre-recording. Both Music Bank windows opened the day before the broadcast, and both notices allotted places on a first-come, first-served basis.
The forms open 10 to 20 minutes before the window (20 for SEVENTEEN, 15 for SUNMI, 10 for CORTIS and TIOT), but SEVENTEEN's notice counted first-come order from the 17:30 start by server time. Since notices appear only a day or two ahead, turn on Weverse notifications for the artist during a promotion.
Results appear on the "event application history" (이벤트 신청 내역) page of the artist's Weverse community, per the SUNMI, CORTIS and TIOT notices. The wait varies: 30 minutes after closing for TIOT, 30 to 60 minutes for CORTIS, about three hours for SEVENTEEN, and the following day for SUNMI.
Two form rules appear in several notices. SEVENTEEN's notice says entries cannot be edited after submission, and TIOT's notice says applications cannot be cancelled once sent, so apply only if you can attend. CORTIS's notice allows one application per account and disqualifies multiple entries.
Do you need a fan club membership to attend Music Bank?
Yes, for both Music Bank notices checked: YEONJUN's July 17, 2026 notice was limited to MOA Membership holders, and SEVENTEEN's 2025 pre-recording required a CARAT Membership. Four of the five notices asked for a paid membership; TIOT's asked for Weverse community membership plus other proof.
1. Fan club membership
MOA (TXT), CARAT (SEVENTEEN), miya-ne (SUNMI) and COER (CORTIS) memberships were required in those notices. CORTIS's notice adds that the membership must still be valid on the event date. SUNMI's and SEVENTEEN's notices ask you to show the membership card inside the Weverse app, and SEVENTEEN's notice rules out a screenshot of it.
2. Album and download proof
SEVENTEEN required two copies of the album bought on Weverse Shop; CORTIS required three album versions; TIOT required two photobooks and a platform album. SEVENTEEN, CORTIS, TIOT and SUNMI also asked for a printed Melon (or, for SUNMI, iTunes) purchase or download record with the member information page.
3. Lightstick and extra conditions
SEVENTEEN and SUNMI required a working official lightstick. SUNMI's Inkigayo notice also asked applicants to meet two of three extra conditions: 400 or more Melon streams of the album, a fan account on X, Instagram or YouTube created by July 22, 2026, or a KakaoTalk fan room joined before January 1, 2026.
4. Your own physical ID
Every notice requires the winner to attend in person and pass an identity check at roll call; SEVENTEEN's notice, for example, accepts only an original, unexpired photo ID matching the applicant's name, date of birth and photo. SUNMI's notice says a missing required item means no entry that day, although it is not recorded as a no-show. The ID rules for foreign fans are covered in the next section.
Requirements as written in each notice, verified October 24, 2026. A different artist or album can set different requirements.
Can foreigners attend Music Bank, and what ID do you need?
Yes. Foreign fans can attend Music Bank and other music shows if they win a fan club place and bring an original passport or Korean residence card at roll call, as SEVENTEEN's March 2025 Music Bank notice and the SUNMI, CORTIS and TIOT notices of 2026 state. The name typed into the application must match the name on that ID exactly.
| Rule for foreign fans | What the notices say | Notice |
|---|---|---|
| Accepted ID | Passport or foreign resident registration card (residence card), original only | SEVENTEEN, SUNMI, CORTIS, TIOT |
| Name format | Enter your name exactly as on the ID, e.g. "Keonho An" if the ID reads Keonho An | CORTIS |
| Spacing and capitals | Must match the ID, including spaces and upper or lower case | TIOT |
| English name | Apply only under the English name on your passport | SUNMI |
| Membership name in English | Only a passport is accepted | SEVENTEEN |
| Not accepted | Photocopies, photos, printouts, phone screenshots, student IDs, expired IDs | SEVENTEEN, CORTIS |
As of October 24, 2026. Sources: SEVENTEEN, SUNMI, CORTIS and TIOT Weverse notices.
For foreign fans, the name is the usual failure point, not the ID itself. A membership under a nickname, or a name typed in a different order from the passport, does not match at the door, so copy the passport letter for letter, including spacing. Album purchases and printed Melon records also have to be ready before roll call in Seoul or Ilsan.

How old do you have to be to attend a K-pop music show?
Most notices set the minimum at 15: YEONJUN's Music Bank notice and CORTIS's M Countdown notice require applicants to be 15 or older on the application day, and SEVENTEEN's Music Bank notice and TIOT's Show Champion notice require 15 or older on the broadcast date, as of October 2026.
| Notice | Minimum age | Counted on |
|---|---|---|
| Music Bank (YEONJUN, 2026) | 15 in Korea and the US, 16 in other countries and regions | Application day |
| Music Bank (SEVENTEEN, 2025) | 15 (born before March 14, 2010) | Broadcast date |
| Inkigayo (SUNMI, 2026) | No minimum age stated; birthdate entered on the form | – |
| M Countdown (CORTIS, 2026) | 15 in Korea and the US, 16 elsewhere | Application day |
| Show Champion (TIOT, 2026) | 15 (the show is rated 15+) | Broadcast date |
As of October 24, 2026. Sources: the five Weverse notices listed under Sources.
In the YEONJUN and CORTIS notices, a 15-year-old applicant from Korea or the US qualified, while a 15-year-old from another country did not. SEVENTEEN's notice adds that a guardian coming along does not replace the applicant's own ID.
Is it the same for Inkigayo, M Countdown and Show Champion?
Mostly yes: the 2026 notices for SBS Inkigayo, Mnet M Countdown and MBC M Show Champion used the same Weverse application, the same 10-to-30-minute window and the same passport name check as Music Bank. The differences are in timing, headcount and the proof each agency asks for, not in the overall route.
Inkigayo and Show Champion windows opened two days ahead in the 2026 notices, while Music Bank and M Countdown opened the day before. Live broadcasts took 5 to 10 fans plus up to 5 reserves; SEVENTEEN's 300 and 150 places were for pre-recordings filmed separately from the live show. Roll call is at a different site for each show, so use the address in the notice.

What happens on the day of a music show recording?
On the day, fan club winners gather at a set roll-call time, show their ID and items, receive a wristband or stamp, and are led in as a group; in the 2026 notices, roll call was 75 to 90 minutes before the broadcast (15:50 for a 17:05 Music Bank, 16:40 for an 18:00 M Countdown, 15:30 for a 17:00 Show Champion). Pre-recordings can start far earlier: SEVENTEEN's part-one check-in began at 04:00 for a 06:00 recording.
YEONJUN's Music Bank notice describes the check-in in detail: fans who pass the ID check get a wrist stamp in harmless ink, a wristband is issued for each recording, and a damaged or lost wristband means no entry. Late arrivals enter last, and TIOT's notice turned them away 30 minutes after roll call began.
The TXT, SEVENTEEN, CORTIS and TIOT notices ban filming and recording in the studio; the YEONJUN notice says footage found on-site is deleted. TIOT's notice adds bag searches, no food or drinks (bottled water included), no LED items, banners or sketchbooks, and no re-entry once recording starts.

What happens if you win a place and do not show up?
A no-show can cost you every later fan club event for that promotion: YEONJUN's July 2026 Music Bank notice bans no-shows and early leavers from open music shows for the rest of the promotion, and the SUNMI and TIOT notices of 2026 apply restrictions after two no-shows.
| Notice | Trigger | Penalty |
|---|---|---|
| Music Bank (YEONJUN, 2026) | No-show or leaving midway | Banned from open music shows for the rest of the promotion |
| Music Bank (SEVENTEEN, 2025) | No-show, leaving early, or leaving and re-entering | Restricted from future SEVENTEEN events |
| Inkigayo (SUNMI, 2026) | Two or more no-shows | Barred from all public broadcasts for the album |
| Show Champion (TIOT, 2026) | Two no-shows on record | Disqualified from all related event prizes |
| M Countdown (CORTIS, 2026) | Filming in the studio; proxy or transferred entries | Ban from future open music shows; treated like a no-show |

Music Bank tickets for foreigners: common questions
Can you buy Music Bank tickets?
The official fan club notices do not sell tickets. Fan club places for Music Bank are given through a Weverse application to eligible members, and none of the five notices checked on October 24, 2026 mentions an entry fee.
Can you attend Music Bank without being a fan of a performing artist?
Not through the fan club route. Each notice covers only the fans of the artist who posted it, and the two Music Bank notices checked were limited to that artist's paid membership holders.
How many fans get in through one fan club notice?
For live broadcasts in the 2026 notices, 5 to 10 fans plus up to 5 reserves. SEVENTEEN's 2025 Music Bank pre-recording took 300 fans in part one and 150 in part two.
