Melon Ticket Global Guide: What to Check Before Booking

Quick Answer

Melon Ticket Global (tkglobal.melon.com) is Melon Ticket's booking site for foreigners living abroad. As of October 2026, card payments must use a credit card issued outside South Korea, concerts carry a ₩8,000 booking fee, and each account gets one queue number.

Melon Ticket Global is the international version of the Korean ticketing service Melon Ticket, and its Purchase Guide is offered in English, Chinese and Japanese. Its rules sit in scattered notices and FAQ answers on the official site, and two of them changed in 2026: the booking fee table on April 23, 2026, and the one-queue-per-account rule on October 23, 2026. This guide turns those official notices and FAQ answers into one checklist to read before a ticket opening. If you are still deciding which Korean ticket site sells your show, start with our comparison of Korean concert ticket sites for foreigners.

Who can use Melon Ticket Global?

Melon Ticket Global is a service for foreigners living abroad, according to the notice printed at the bottom of every page of tkglobal.melon.com. The same footer asks users inside South Korea to use the Korean-language Melon Ticket service instead. In practice, that makes the global site the intended route for an overseas fan buying a ticket for a show in Korea from home.

Korean nationals living abroad are a separate case. The official FAQ of Melon Ticket Global says that Korean citizens who live overseas complete identity verification on the Korean site, ticket.melon.com, through its mobile verification, rather than with the passport scan used on the global site. Foreign residents of Korea are covered by the site footer, which points users in Korea to the Korean Melon Ticket service.

Eligibility is only half of the question; the show also has to be on sale there. Each concert announcement names its own ticketing partner and sales links, so check the official announcement for a Melon Ticket Global sales link before you create an account or verify a passport. If the announcement names a different partner, the rules on this page do not apply to that show.

Do you need passport verification on Melon Ticket Global?

Melon Ticket Global has offered passport-based identity verification since September 11, 2025, and whether it is required depends on the performance. When a show requires it, the performance details page shows a "Verified Members Only" label, and only verified accounts can book that show. The rule comes from Melon Ticket Global Notice 18, dated September 10, 2025.

Verification needs your own passport and a smartphone with a camera. The official path is My Info > Verification > Scan your passport and face > Validation check > Confirmed. One passport can verify only one account: the same passport details cannot verify a second account, and after verification the account name changes to the name printed in the passport.

Timing matters. The official FAQ of Melon Ticket Global warns that verification started right before a sale may be delayed and recommends verifying 1 to 2 days in advance of a "Verified Members Only" opening. The service can also pause: Notice 26, posted September 23, 2026, announced that passport authentication would be temporarily unavailable on Thursday, October 1, 2026. Check the notice list in the week of a sale.

Which cards and payment methods does Melon Ticket Global accept?

Melon Ticket Global requires a credit card issued outside South Korea for card payments, according to its FAQ. The FAQ answer warns that a booking paid with a Korean-issued card can be canceled even if the payment went through. For advance purchases (presales), the FAQ says only credit cards can be used. Digital wallets appear at the final payment step: the FAQ lists Alipay Plus and PayPal.

The statement descriptor confuses many first-time buyers. A charge from the site shows up under the payment processor's name, such as "KGINICIS" or "BC Card", so a fan checking a banking app on sale day may not see the words "Melon Ticket" at all. Card companies sometimes flag unfamiliar foreign charges, so telling your bank about an upcoming Korean purchase before opening day can prevent a declined payment.

How much is the Melon Ticket Global booking fee?

The Melon Ticket Global booking fee for concerts is ₩8,000, effective 10 AM on April 23, 2026, according to Notice 24 posted on April 13, 2026. The concert rate also covers fan meetings and festivals. The notice sets different amounts for musicals and fan club sales and makes events and exhibitions free, and it tells buyers to check each booking for additional fees.

CategoryBooking fee (from April 23, 2026)
Concerts (incl. fan meetings, festivals)₩8,000
Musicals₩6,000
Fan club₩3,000
Events and exhibitionsFree

The Melon Ticket Global booking fee is not refundable after the purchase day. The official FAQ says a cancellation made by 11:59 PM KST on the booking day carries no cancellation fee, but the booking (service) fee cannot be refunded once the purchase day has passed. A fan who cancels a concert ticket on a later day therefore loses the booking fee, on top of any cancellation fee that show sets.

What changed in the Melon Ticket Global queue on October 23, 2026?

Since Friday, October 23, 2026, Melon Ticket Global allows one queue number per account. Notice 27, posted October 20, 2026, says that if the same account enters the waiting queue on several devices, browsers or tabs at the same time, the queue session entered later is terminated automatically. Opening extra tabs on one account no longer adds chances; it can cancel your own place.

Melon Ticket Global Notice 27 also changed the booking screen from October 23, 2026. Session dates and times now appear on the performance details page from 1 hour before tickets open. After the opening, PC users click the [Get Tickets] button, while mobile users select a session time to enter. A fan who refreshes the page early and sees no session list is looking at the intended behavior, not an error.

The practical takeaway for opening day under the one-queue rule: choose one device and one browser tab for each account, and keep the other devices logged out of that account. A friend helping you should use their own account, which needs its own passport verification if the show is "Verified Members Only".

Why is Melon Ticket Global not working or not opening the booking window?

The Melon Ticket Global FAQ names the browser as the first thing to check: the site is optimized for PC Chrome and mobile web browsers, other operating systems and browsers are not guaranteed, and the latest version should be used. The FAQ also says the booking window may fail to open because of Chrome's pop-up blocker, and gives the path to turn it off for the site: Chrome > Settings > Privacy and Security > Site Settings > Pop-ups and Redirects.

Searches for "Melon Ticket Global 403 Forbidden" describe a page that refuses to load at all. Melon Ticket Global has not published an explanation for 403 pages in its notices or FAQ (checked October 24, 2026), so this guide does not guess at the cause. The official statements that relate to access are the footer, which says the site is meant for foreigners living abroad and sends users in Korea to the Korean service, and the browser advice in the FAQ. For an account-specific problem, the site's help menu offers a 1:1 Inquiry form next to the Notice and FAQ pages.

A queue that suddenly drops is a different issue. Under the October 23, 2026 rule, entering the queue a second time on the same account ends the later session, so a "kicked out" queue can simply mean the account is open somewhere else. The official Purchase Guide shows each booking step as images in English, Chinese and Japanese and is worth opening once before a sale.

When can you cancel a Melon Ticket Global booking?

Melon Ticket Global charges no cancellation fee for a booking canceled by 11:59 PM KST on the day it was made, according to its FAQ. After that day, the cancellation fee set by each show applies, and the booking fee is no longer refundable. The FAQ adds that cancellations after 11:30 PM KST may fail depending on the bank, so a same-day cancellation is safer earlier in the evening.

The cancellation deadline on Melon Ticket Global is 5 PM KST on the day before the performance, or 11 AM KST when that day falls on a Saturday, and no cancellation is possible on the performance day. The FAQ notes that deadlines can vary by event, so the performance page of your show is the final word. Cancel through My Ticket > [Cancel my purchase]; partial cancellation of some tickets in one booking is generally available, with some events excluded.

How do you pick up Melon Ticket Global tickets?

Melon Ticket Global tickets are collected at the box office of the venue, according to the FAQ, and they cannot be picked up before the show day. Bring a valid ID and your purchase statement. Once a ticket has been collected, it will not be reissued if it is lost, so the paper ticket needs the same care as a passport for the rest of the day.

Collecting Melon Ticket Global tickets for someone else is allowed only for some events, and those events may ask for the buyer's ID and booking information. If a friend will collect for you, read the pickup notice on your show's performance page before the trip instead of assuming it is allowed. Passport verification also helps at pickup: after verification the account name matches the passport, which is the ID most overseas fans carry to the box office.

Pro Tip: On the day before a ticket opening, do three things: confirm the passport verification shows as Confirmed, open the booking window once in Chrome with pop-ups allowed for tkglobal.melon.com, and sign the account out on every device except the one you will use. All three come straight from the official FAQ and the October 23, 2026 queue notice.
