Gocheok Sky Dome Concert Guide: Stations, Seats and Venue Rules (2026)

Gocheok Sky Dome is Seoul's domed baseball stadium in Guro-gu, and one of the city's largest K-pop concert venues. The closest station is Guil Station on Subway Line 1 — take Exit 2 and walk about 150 m (around 3 minutes). On show days, Guil gets packed, so getting off one stop early at Guro or one stop later at Gaebong is often the smarter move.

The dome matters to K-pop fans this year for one big reason: the Melon Music Awards 2026 (MMA2026) will be held here on November 14–15, 2026 — the first time the ceremony runs over two days, according to organizer Kakao Entertainment. The venue has a long K-pop history too: it hosted the 33rd Golden Disc Awards and EXO's "EXO PLANET #4 – The EℓyXiOn" concert in November 2017.

This guide covers what you actually need on the day: the venue basics, which station to use, what the seat numbers mean, the house rules we could confirm, and how to get home without fighting the crowd at the nearest station.

Writing the Korean address down matters more than it sounds. Taxi drivers and map apps in Korea work best with the Korean address, and "Gocheok Dome" (고척돔) is what most locals call it.

Which subway station should you use?

All four useful stations are on Seoul Subway Line 1. The venue operator itself recommends spreading out across them, because Guil Station is small and becomes a bottleneck when a full dome arrives and leaves at the same time.

Guil Station (구일역) — closest, busiest

Leave through Exit 2 and walk straight for about 150 m; the dome is about three minutes away. It is the obvious choice, which is exactly the problem: before doors open and right after the encore, the platform and exit stairs fill up fast.

Guro Station (구로역) — best if you come from Seoul

If you are riding in from central Seoul, Suwon or Anyang, the operator suggests getting off at Guro to avoid the crush. From Exit 2, turn left and walk about 1 km straight, cross Gocheok Bridge, and the dome is on your left — roughly a 20-minute walk.

Gaebong Station (개봉역) — best if you come from Incheon

Coming from Incheon or Bucheon? Get off at Gaebong. From Exit 2, walk 200 m straight, turn right and continue about 650 m; the dome is on your right, around 15 minutes on foot.

Sindorim Station (신도림역) — if you are on Line 2

Sindorim is the transfer point between Lines 1 and 2. From Exit 1 or Exit 5, buses reach the dome in about three stops, with ten bus routes running that way.

Pro tip: Save the station name in Korean (구일역, 구로역, 개봉역) in your notes app. Station signs and announcements use both languages, but Korean is faster to match when you are moving with a crowd.

How many people does it hold, and what does that mean for your seat?

The official seat count is 16,601 fixed seats. That is the number for the stands only. For concerts, organizers usually add seating or standing areas on the ground where the baseball field normally is, so the total crowd depends on how the stage is built. Wikipedia lists concert capacity at around 25,000, but the real figure changes from show to show, and some stand sections behind the stage are often left empty.

Because it is a baseball stadium first, the seating bowl is built around a diamond, not a stage. In practice this means three things for concert-goers:

  • Floor seats are closest to the stage but sit on flat ground, so your view depends on the people in front of you.
  • Stand seats rise in tiers. Higher levels are steeper and farther away — a small pair of binoculars is worth packing.
  • Seat maps differ by show. Always check the seating chart on your ticketing page rather than a generic stadium map.

Venue rules we could confirm

Most rules at a Gocheok concert are set by the event organizer, not the building. Here is what the venue operator states officially, plus what you should check in your own show's notice.

SmokingNot allowed inside the dome. There are five smoking booths outside the building.
Food and drinksThe operator says food rules can change with the type of event. For baseball, glass bottles are not allowed and re-entry with outside food is restricted. Check your concert notice for its own rules.
Parking484 spaces on site, but during baseball games and events the car park is reserved by the organizer. Plan on the subway.
Food stands32 indoor food and convenience stands operate during baseball games; what opens on concert days depends on the event.
Lost itemsContact the event organizer first; for baseball games, the home team handles lost property.

Things the venue does not publish, because they change per concert: ID checks, bag size limits, lightstick rules and whether re-entry is allowed. These are always listed in the official notice on your ticketing site or the artist's fan community. Many Korean concerts verify ID at the venue, so overseas fans should carry the passport that matches the name on the booking.

  1. The night before: screenshot your ticket, read the show notice, and charge your phone and lightstick.
  2. Getting there: pick your station based on where you are coming from, not just distance. Guro and Gaebong add 15–20 minutes of walking but save you the worst of the queue.
  3. At the dome: follow the organizer's signs for ID check and merch lines; these change for every show.
  4. After the encore: if you are not in a hurry, let the first wave leave before you head out, or walk to Guro or Gaebong instead of Guil.
